Perhaps not the best beach on Phuket, but it does have its charm. Rawai was the very first beach of Phuket to be developed because of its location close to Phuket town. Rawai today, while home to many expats it's not a tourist beach such as other beaches around Phuket,

Many boats that are heading out to the nearby islands leave from Rawai beach, as well as fishing boats. If you are visiting Rawai make sure to also visit Laem Promthep for one of the most beautiful sun sets you will ever experience. Laem Promthep is also a great place for snorkeling.

Many divers also stay around Rawai because of the boat facilities for offshore diving trips.
