In case you are Scandinavian this is where you are most likely to meet your neighbor from back home, this place transforms into a Scandinavian beach town during high season. Karon has its charm though and if you feel that you want to get away from the buzzing nightlife of Patong, Karon may be a good alternative.

The nightlife, while not amazing has a bunch of beer bars available which makes it a great place to start your night in a more relaxed way. The clubs and discos will be waiting for you just over the hill in Patong. Transportation is available with most hotels, another alternative is Tuk Tuk, while not the most comfortable way to get around it is an alternative. Transportation with Tuk Tuk to Patong costs around 300-350 baht.

The beach is great, white sand and perfect water. Be careful when swimming in May to October, the current can be rough. Listen to warnings from the locals and do not swim when the red flag is up.
